What to expect at your first meeting
Our meeting are pay as you go so there’s no need to register in advance just turn up and pay your £7.50 on the door.
If it’s your first meeting let us know and we will help you settle in with our welcome pack and introduction to a ‘buddy’. Your buddy will show you around and help you find all the important areas; like where to acquire the free tea and cake, where the raffle tickets are sold and our monthly pop-up shop. They will also introduce you to a few people and help you find somewhere to sit. We encourage people to wear name badges so you will soon learn a few names and your welcome pack includes a kit to make your own!
After tea, cake and a catch-up with friends, we start our meeting with any essential news items and then move on to a show and tell session where we encourage people to share with the group their makes-in-progress and completed items. This is a really important part of our program and it is not about displaying perfection – it is about support, encouragement and appreciation for each individual in their own skill-set.
The show and tell is followed by a raffle and then we introduce our speaker for the evening. Our speakers are carefully chosen to provide a diverse range of talks exploring the many different facets of patchwork, quilting and textile art and we are confident that there will be something in every meeting to interest everyone.
